Taking A Break

Taking A Break

It's a dreaded statement in the fertility world. "You just need to stop trying; it'll happen."

I know that everyone's trying to take the pressure off, but when you have been trying for over 2 years, it's actually terrible to hear.

Look, we've been married for almost 5 years. We didn't try to get pregnant for 3 years, and it didn't happen then. Then you use science to try to get pregnant for 2 and all anyone can say is "Just stop trying."

Screw you, Karen.

That being said, trying to get pregnant for two years is exhausting. I shove a thermometer in my vagina every morning. My husband knows we have to have sex every other day for about 7 days. And that's not as exciting to him as you think.

He also has to take Sudafed which dries out his sinuses and makes him uncomfortable.

All that combined with us wanting to travel for the first time in our married life, and we decided to take a little two-month break. Just two months where I didn't worry about whether I'm fertile or not, or if we have Pre-seed in the house. Two months to relax.

Then, we'll jump back in with two feet, because in two months, we have our followup appointment with the Fertility specialist then. To find how we want to proceed.
